VIVIDSITES UI/UX site design recognized by the Web Marketing Association for the Best Interactive Services Website, 2016

Nov 01, 2016

Every year the Web Marketing Association hosts the WebAwards to showcase the many disciplines in web design. Each WebAward entry is judged by industry experts upon design, ease of use, copywriting, interactivity, use of technology, innovation, and content. Each site will compete with others in their category with the highest score being selected for Best of Industry winner (webaward.org).

VIVIDSITES was honored with the recognition of our site, VIVIDSITES.com, and our UI/UX design, for Best Interactive Services Website, 2016.

Creating a User Interface That Will Create a Positive User Experience

Here at VIVIDISTES, we understand the importance of leveraging award-worthy design and strategy to advance a brand’s digital presence, and to put them ahead of competitors. Additionally, we understand the need to create an online destination for users and to give them the information they are looking for in an easy and accessible manner.

In order to showcase our award-winning design and high-end development, we created a flow between our site’s UI, the technical side, and the UX, the emotional side. This flow would create a user-friendly interface that would ensure a positive and heightened user experience. The importance of ‘usability’ was at the forefront of our minds, as we wanted our prospective clients to move through the sequence of actions to find our service information in a timely fashion.  In order to get our users to the information they needed about our services, we created interactive service elements to shorten the process. When designing, creating a practical and simple user interface to get users from point A to point B in an uninterrupted process is key.

To enhance the user experience, and to grab our users’ attention, we implemented bold colors with subtle, yet mesmerizing, animation. The site design and programming were all done by us, from scratch. We even hand coded the animation on the logo with CSS3 and the banner backgrounds with Canvas/WebGL. From there, we used custom trigonometry on the banner background animation to create a 3D polygon lava lamp effect. The goal was to add animation to subtly catch our users’ eye.

The Importance of UI & UX Design

In the long scheme of things, getting users to your site is not as important as creating a user experience that will keep the user engaged, and help direct them to the information they came there to find. Without designing a user interface to improve the user experience, you risk the chance of frustrating customers and leaving a bad first impression. Predicting the needs and wants of your online visitors is an art form. And if you do not spend time investing in your UI/UX development, your inconvenient design and complicated site journey will alienate your users.
